Xaverian holds 'topping-off ceremony' for major construction project

WESTWOOD -- This week marked an important milestone in the ongoing construction projects at Xaverian as a "topping-off" ceremony was held to mark the completion of the first phase of the construction for the new Scholastic and Wellness Center and gym renovation. On April 17 members of the community came together to sign the beam and on April 28, following a blessing from Xaverian alumnus Father Bryan Parish, the beam was hoisted into place.

Construction projects at Xaverian began in June 2013 as part of a strategic plan approved by the Board of Trustees, which includes the renovation and addition of athletic fields, the new Scholastic and Wellness Center, and the addition of grades 7 and 8. The varsity stadium, with lights and a new track and field, was completed in September and the inaugural 7th grade class will begin this fall. The Scholastic and Wellness Center and multi-purpose/baseball field are currently underway, with the fields projected to be finished in the next two months and the Scholastic and Wellness Center by late fall 2014.
