Parishioners typically join their parish’s stewardship committee for a variety of reasons — the need to serve, the need to give back, the need to become involved in various ministries.

But for a number of parishioners at one Boston archdiocese parish, St. John the Evangelist in Winthrop, chief among the reasons to participate in the stewardship committee is to provide opportunities for the community’s children and youth and to forge a connection between young people and the Church.
