Malden Catholic vs. Peabody

Playing at home on Thanksgiving Eve, the Malden Catholic Lancers, led by Coach Joe Graff defeated Peabody High by a score of 35-7. Craig Richardson had a great game, scoring three touchdowns. The Lancers end the season at 4-7. The Peabody High Tanners end at 1-10. The game with Peabody begins a new Thanksgiving rival between the two schools.

St. Mary, Lynn vs. Lynn Tech

Lynn Tech dominated the Thanksgiving Eve game in Lynn, shutting out St. Mary by a score of 38-0. St. Mary’s, led by Coach Jeff Smith ends the season at 1-10. Their only win occurred on Sept. 29 with a 27-0 shutout over Mystic Valley. Lynn Tech ends at 6-3.

Catholic Memorial

The BC High Eagles had an outstanding season, defeating the CM Knights on Thanksgiving morning in West Roxbury by a score of 27-20. Previously, the Eagles won the Catholic Conference title outright, shutting out St. John Prep on Nov. 10 with a 24-0 victory in Danvers. The Eagles, led by Ron St. George made an appearance on Nov. 27 in a Division I semi-playoff game and lost to powerhouse Everett High by a score of 26-6. The Eagles end the season at 11-1. Despite the Thanksgiving Day loss, the CM Knights, led by Alex Campea had a great season, winning 6 and losing 4 and were much improved from last years’ record of 1-9.

St. John Prep (Danvers) vs.

Xaverian (Westwood)

Celebrating its centennial year, St. John’s Prep defeated their Thanksgiving rival at home by a score of 21-17. Both teams fell short this fall, not contending for the Catholic Conference Title and playing beyond Thanksgiving Day. The Eagles, led by Coach Jim O’Leary end at 6-5. The Xaverian Hawks, led by Coach Charlie Stevens end at 5-6.

Central Catholic (Lawrence) vs. Andover

Playing at Lawrence Memorial Stadium, Central Catholic played hard but fell short, losing 10-7 to Andover. Central Catholic, led by Coach Chuck Adamopoulos end at 5-6. Andover had a great season, ending at 8-3.

Marian (Framingham) vs. Nipmuc

Playing at home, Marian fell short and lost to Nipmuc by a score of 35-13. In his 20th year at the helm, Coach Phil Marchegiani led the team to a 7-3 record. Nipmuc ended at 7-3 too.

Austin Prep (Reading) vs.

Bishop Fenwick (Peabody)

Playing at home, Fenwick capped a successful season with a 28-16 win over Austin Prep. Led by Coach Dave Woods in his 10th year, Fenwick ends the season at 7-4. Austin Prep, led by Coach Bill Maradei, in his 29th year, ends at 5-6.

Archbishop Williams (Braintree) vs. Cardinal Spellman (Brockton)

Playing at home, Archbishop Williams beat Spellman by a score of 30-14. Coach Bill Kinsherf led his team to an even record of 5-5. Spellman, led by Coach John Nickley, ended the season at 1-9.

Arlington Catholic vs.

Matignon (Cambridge)

The Arlington Catholic Cougars trecked over to Dilboy Stadium in Somerville on Thanksgiving morning for the 17th annual game and defeated the Matignon Warriors by a score of 35-7. AC made an appearance in a Division III semifinal on Nov. 27 and lost to Swampscott by a score of 33-7. Led by Coach Serge Clivio, in his 18th year, the Cougars end the season at 7-5 and are the Catholic Central Large champions. Matignon had a respectable year too, ending at 5-5.

Cathedral (South End) vs. Whittier

The Cathedral High Panthers traveled to Whittier, only to lose by a score of 49-12. In his second year, Coach Mike Pittman led Cathedral to a respectable record of 5-6. The Whittier Warriors end at 4-7.

Pope John (Everett) vs. Lowell Catholic

The Pope John Tigers had a great day on Thanksgiving, defeating Lowell Catholic by a score of 57-22 in Lowell. The Tigers, winners of the Catholic League Small Title, made an appearance in a Division IV semi-playoff game on Nov. 27, losing to West Bridgewater by a score of 24-0. In his second year, Coach Chris Buckley led the Tigers to successful season of 8 wins and 3 losses. Lowell Catholic, led by Coach Tim Walsh ends at 3-7.

Trinity Catholic (Newton) vs.

St. Clement (Somerville)

These two teams played a good game on Thanksgiving morning at St. Clement’s but Trinity Catholic prevailed by a score of 40-34. Trinity, led by Coach Steve McGonigle ends at 3-8. St. Clement, led by Coach Colin Walsh ends at 0-10.
