ROSWELL, Ga. -- Star Quest Production Network will hold the third annual Catholic New Media Celebration Aug. 7 at the Archdiocese of Boston’s Pastoral Center. The conference will discuss evangelization and building community through new media.

“We will be exploring the best practices for creating quality content, how authentic catechesis and spirituality are incorporated and how a true sense of mission is instilled in those who consume this media and become a part of our online communities,” said Star Quest CEO Father Roderick Vonhogen.

The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Keynote speakers will be CatholicTV director Father Robert Reed and Lino Rulli, who currently produces a radio program sanctioned by the USCCB and host of The Catholic Guy, a show that airs on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.

Topics to be addressed include blogging, podcasting, and social media. Attendees will learn how to create and share content for the Church’s benefit.

Registration is available at celebration.sqpn.com. All interested in new media are invited, including young adults, ministry leaders, priests, and religious.

In a 2010 World Communications Day message, Pope Benedict XVI encouraged those involved in evangelization “to become an ever more pastoral presence on the web.”
