As the school year comes to an end, The Pilot congratulates all graduates from the many Catholic high schools throughout the Archdiocese of Boston.

Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro

Graduation took place on Sunday, May 22. Amanda Creedon delivered the salutatory address and Elizabeth Pepe, the valedictory address. An invited speaker was Elizabeth Murphy, a past member of the faculty. Diplomas were presented to 31 graduates.

Archbishop Williams High School, Braintree

The 59th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26. Dennis Marquis delivered the salutatory address and Danielle Conneely delivered the salutatory address. An invited speaker for the occasion was comedian Lenny Clark. Diplomas were presented to 100 graduates.

Arlington Catholic High School

On the campus of Bentley College in Waltham, AC held its 48th commencement on Friday afternoon, May 27. The salutatory address was presented by Lia Tamburello and the valedictory by Abigal Horgan. An invited speaker was Peter Felicia. He was a member of the first graduating class in 1964 and now a successful theatre critic and writer. Diplomas were presented to 176 graduates.

Austin Prep, Reading

The 46th commencement took place on Saturday, June 4 in the school's Multi-Purpose facility. Brenna McDuffie delivered the salutatory address and Shannon McCarthy the valedictory address. Headmaster Paul J. Moran presented diplomas to 119 graduates.

Bishop Fenwick High School, Peabody

The 49th commencement took place on Friday, May 27 at the school stadium. Emily LaRochelle delivered the salutatory address and Stephanie Haddad delivered the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 154 graduates.

Boston College High School, Dorchester

The 147th commencement took place on Sunday afternoon, May 22 in McNeice Pavilion. Addressing the graduates was Boston Mayor Tom Menino. Graduates of the Class of 1961 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas. Delivering the valedictory address was Zachary Sogolow. Diplomas were presented to 267 graduates.

Cardinal Spellman High School, Brockton

The 50th commencement took place on Potvin Field on Thursday evening, May 26. Samantha Curran delivered the salutatory address and Jennifer Scanlon, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 173 graduates.

Cathedral High School

The 81st commencement took place at the cathedral on Saturday, May 21. The salutatory address was presented by Sejvi Katro and the valedictory by Delmira Monteiro. Headmaster Tom Arria presented diplomas to 60 graduates.

Catholic Memorial High School, West Roxbury

Holy Name Church was the setting for the commencement on Thursday afternoon, May 26. Patrick R. Carney delivered the salutatory address and John M. Gaffney presented the valedictory address. Mr. Paul E. Sheff, president, presented diplomas to 144 graduates. Seventeen in the class are sons of CM graduates.

Central Catholic High School, Lawrence

The 73rd commencement took place at the Volpe Center on the campus of Merrimac College, in order to accommodate a larger crowd. Graduates of the Class of 1961 attended. Lauren Boehm delivered the salutatory address and Viet Le delivered the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 323 graduates.

Cristo Rey Boston High School

The first commencement took place on Friday afternoon, June 9 at the Strand Theatre in Dorchester. The salutatorian address was presented by Marc Gelin and the valedictory by Phillip Benevides. An invited speaker was Dr. Mary Grassa O'Neill, superintendent of Catholic Schools. Father Jose Medina, principal, presented diplomas to 47 graduates. The school, previously North Cambridge Catholic, relocated to Dorchester last September.

Elizabeth Seton Academy, Dorchester

St. Gregory Church was the setting for the seventh commencement on Thursday evening, May 26. Dr. Maureen White, principal, presented diplomas to 27 graduates. The valedictory address was presented by Jessica Sanon.

Fontbonne Academy, Milton

Under a tent erected for the occasion, the 54th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26. Chosen to address their classmates were Christina Ferrera of Milton and Mary McGunnigal of Norwell. Diplomas were presented to 100 graduates.

Lowell Catholic High School, Lowell

The 22nd commencement took place on Friday evening, May 27 at St. Margaret Church. The salutatory address was presented by Carolyn McCarthy and the valedictory by Emily True. Mary Ellen DeMarco, principal, presented diplomas to 92 graduates.

Malden Catholic High School

The 76th commencement took place on Saturday, May 21 in the school gymnasium. The salutatory address was presented by Matthew Cardarelli and the valedictory by Louis Panek. Nine graduates from the Class of 1961 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas. Headmaster Edward C. Tyrrell presented diplomas to 139 graduates.

Marian High School, Framingham

Graduation took place on Friday evening, May 27 in the school assembly hall. Eight members of the Class of 1961 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas. Rebecca O'Donnell presented the valedictory address. An invited speaker for the occasion was Sister Ellen Powers, principal from 1974-1981. Diplomas were presented to 72 graduates.

Matignon High School, Cambridge

The graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 25 in the school assembly hall. Two graduates, Nicole Williams and Chau Pham delivered the salutatory address and the valedictory by Lendy Chu. Graduates of the Class of 1961 attended as Mr. Joseph DiSarcina, principal, presented diplomas to 91 graduates.

Mount Alvernia High School, Newton

The graduation took place on Saturday afternoon, May 21 on the grounds of the school. Delivering the salutatory address was Helen Tucceri and the valedictory, Kathleen McGreal. Diplomas were presented to 43 graduates.

Mount St. Joseph Academy, Brighton

The 126th commencement took place on Wednesday evening, May 25 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Eileen Maria Angelica Marino and the valedictory by Lindsay Jean Smith. Ms. Kathleen Fraser, principal, presented diplomas to 62 graduates.

Newton County Day School, Newton

The 131st commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 9 under a tent erected for the occasion. Delivering the salutatory address was Sofia Carrera and the valedictory, Jamie Smith. An invited speaker was Ms. Rita Foley '71. Diplomas were presented to 67 graduates.

Notre Dame Academy, Hingham

The 158th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 20. Diplomas were presented to 138 graduates. Kerry McCabe presented the salutatory address and Katherine French, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 138 graduates.

Notre Dame High School, Lawrence

The 4th commencement took place on Saturday morning, June 11 at St. Mary Church. Liz Cintron delivered the salutatory address and Yaritza Vargas, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 47 graduates.

Pope John XXIII High School, Everett

The 42nd commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Carolyn Ireland and the valedictory by Brendon Bowdridge. Diplomas were presented to 48 graduates.

Presentation of Mary Academy, Methuen

Graduation took place on Friday, May 27. Gina Jinenez delivered the salutatory address and Megan France, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 55 graduates.



Sacred Heart High School, Kingston

Commencement took place on Saturday, May 28. Courtney Buohl presented the salutatory address and Ariyanna Petrelli, the valedictory address. An invited speaker for the occasion was alumnus Daniel Hunt '92. Diplomas were presented to 90 graduates.

St. Clement High School, Medford

St. Clement Church was the setting for graduation on Friday, May 27. LeAnn Mitrano delivered the salutatory address and Victoria Gay, the valedictory address. An invited speaker was alumnus Rev. Matthew Westcott. Diplomas were presented to 28 graduates.

St. John Prep, Danvers

The 101st commencement took place on Sunday morning, May 22 on Ryken Field. The graduates were greeted by the Class of 1986 and 1961 as they filed into the commencement exercises. Dr. Albert Shannon, headmaster presided at his 10th and final commencement and presented diplomas to 332 graduates. The salutatory address was presented by Andrew Jenkins and the valedictory by James Bothwick. The Xaverian Award was presented to Ryan Lane.

St. Mary High School, Lynn

St. Mary Church in Lynn was the setting for graduation on Thursday, May 26. The salutatory address was presented by Molly Whelan and the valedictory by Karina Dube. An invited speaker was Col. David Clarke '97. Diplomas were presented to 147 graduates.

St. Sebastian Country Day School, Needham

The 67th commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 9 at St. Bartholomew Church. Ryan M. Bacic delivered the salutatory address and Dillon O. Ecclesino, the valedictory address. An invited speaker was Kevin Condrun, Chairman and CEO of the Granite Group, Inc. Diplomas were presented to 55 graduates.

Trinity Catholic High School, Newton

Our Lady Help of Christians Church was the setting for graduation on Friday evening, June 3. Scott Pero delivered the salutatory address and Riddhi Jan, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 57 graduates.

Ursuline Academy, Dedham

Graduation took place on Sunday afternoon, June 5. Katherine Dennis delivered the salutatory address and Katherine Dennis, the valedictory address. An invited speaker for the occasion was Megan Hobson Golden '85. Diplomas were presented to 63 graduates.

Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood

Graduation took place on Friday evening, May 20 in the school gymnasium. Jonathan Juliano presented the salutatory address and Brandon Sepe, the valedictory address. Graduates from the Mission Church High School Class of 1961 attended. Brother Daniel Skala, headmaster, presented diplomas to 214 graduates.
