After more than 40 years of service with the Catholic Charities, Dr. William H. Sullivan and his wife Susan White Sullivan were recently honored for their insight, dedication and commitment to others at Catholic Charities South’s Annual Springfest Dinner, Dance and Auction.

The Sullivans began their relationship with Catholic Charities in 1961, which has continued throughout the years.

Susan, a registered nurse and a licensed social worker, was a staff member at Catholic Charities South, working in the field of adoption and foster care. Throughout her career, she worked placing children in caring homes, conducting support groups and facilitating reunions between adoptees and their birth parents. William shared his wife’s concern for the needs of these individuals, and the couple often shared their home with birth mothers in need of a place to live. Currently Susan volunteers as a foster care reviewer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is active in grief support and child abuse prevention ministries in her parish.

William, a member of the Board at Catholic Charities South has also provided many charities with his insight and expertise. He has taken numerous trips to Haiti to provide medical service and supplies and he works as president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Canton. He is the founder of Sullivan Orthopedic Associates in Stoughton and has served as chief of orthopedics at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital.
