TV program notes -- week of April 28, 2019

NEW YORK (CNS) -- Here are some television program notes for the week of April 28 with their TV Parental Guidelines ratings if available. They have not been reviewed and therefore are not necessarily recommended by Catholic News Service.

Sunday, April 28, 6-8 p.m. EDT (EWTN) "The Original Image of Divine Mercy." A look at the history of the original image of Divine Mercy, from the events that led to its creation under St. Faustina Kowalska's guidance to its current place in the cathedral in Vilnius, Lithuania (TV-Y -- all children).

Monday, April 29, 8-9 p.m. EDT (PBS) "American Spring Live." First episode of a three-part series that presents the change from winter to spring in real time from various locations across America. This installment, titled "Birth and Rebirth," looks at how spring's rising temperatures and longer days spur plants to flower and animals to transform. The series continues nightly through Wednesday, May 1, 8-9 p.m. EDT each night. A "Nature" presentation (TV-G -- general audience).

Monday, April 29, 8-10 p.m. EDT (ABC) "The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story." Documentary special profiling the rock band Queen and its new regular front man, Adam Lambert.

Tuesday, April 30, 10-11 p.m. EDT (A&E) "Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole." First episode of an eight-part docuseries telling the stories of child offenders sentenced to mandatory life terms without parole who are now seeking resentencing based on a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling. This installment focuses on the case of a youth from Georgia. Future episodes will air weekly in the same time slot.

Friday, May 3, 9-10:30 p.m. EDT (PBS) "Emilio & Gloria Estefan: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song." This special showcases a tribute to Emilio and Gloria Estefan as they receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize (TV-PG -- parental guidance suggested).

Saturday, May 4, 8-10 p.m. EDT (EWTN) "Fatima." Feature film recounting the events of Fatima through the eyes of a Catholic peasant singer whose atheist boyfriend is converted by the apparitions (TV-Y -- all children).
