With the Christmas collections, one of the major sources of income for the Priest Pension and Healthcare Funds just weeks away, a new website has been launched that aims to spotlight the invaluable work of the archdiocese priests.

The new web site is directed to pastors, parish staff, and all parishioners throughout the archdiocese.

“CareForSeniorPriests.org is focused on sharing information about our priests and the significant contributions they make in our lives and those of our loved ones,” remarked Joseph D’Arrigo, Executive Director of the Funds. “We hope this website will educate the Catholic community about the Priest Pension and Healthcare Funds and encourage them to be generous in support of our priests.”

In the introduction of the website Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley writes, “Our priests are cared for through the Priest Pension and Healthcare Funds, which are supported by the generosity of parishioners in every parish of our Archdiocese. The primary purpose of these Funds is to provide medical care and retirement benefits to clergy who have served parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Boston. The revitalization and stabilization of these Funds is a top priority of the Archdiocese.”

The new site “shares information about our priests and the Priest Pension and Healthcare Funds, and also provides information for parishes to promote collections for Senior Priests, interesting news article and links, and other helpful resources,” said Dom Bettinelli, a member of The Catholic Foundation Staff who designed the new site. “This website is now the primary source for anyone seeking information about the Priest Pension and Healthcare Funds.”

Scot Landry, Secretary for Institutional Advancement, added “We hope that CareForSeniorPriests.org will be utilized immediately by parishes in order to access resources that might grow the collection at Christmas which benefits senior priests. We ask all Catholics to be generous this Christmas in honoring these dedicated and faithful priests that have lovingly served us for decades.”
