Malden Catholic vs. Lawrence

Playing at home on Thanksgiving Eve, the MC Lancers defeated Lawrence by a score of 42-32. Both teams played their hearts out with MC running back Quinn McDonough scoring five touchdowns and Lawrence quarterback Nick Elwell throwing for three. The Lancers, led by Bob Almeida, end the season at 4-7. Lawrence ends at 3-8.

St. Mary (Lynn) vs. Lynn Tech

Playing at home in Lynn, the St. Mary Spartans defeated their city rival by a score of 36-20. Two sophomores, Todd Collier and Nick Day led the way with three touchdowns. Both teams had respectable seasons, ending at 7-3. The Spartans were led by Matt Durgin.

Pope John (Everett) vs. Lowell Catholic

Led by Coach Brian Vaughan, the Pope John Tigers came over to Cawley Stadium in Lowell and trounced the LC Crusaders by a score of 44-14. Within five minutes of the first, the aggressive Tigers scored two touchdowns and led 30-14 at the half. The Tigers were on track to end the regular season at 9-1 and compete in the postseason with the Catholic Central Small Title. An ineligible player caused the team to forfeit five games and end their season on Thanksgiving Day. Lowell Catholic, led by Coach Tim Walsh, ends the season at 6-4.

Marian (Framingham) vs. Cathedral (Boston)

The Marian High Mustangs had a great day at home, defeating Cathedral High 34-22 and clinching the Catholic Central Small Title, despite having a record of 3-6, due to the situation with Pope John. The Cathedral Panthers, led by Michael Pittman, end at 3-8. Marian made an appearance in a Division 4A semi-final game with Northeast on Dec. 1 and lost 24-24. Marian, led by Phil Marchegiani, ends the season at 4-7.

St. Clement (Somerville) vs. Trinity Catholic (Newton)

The St. Clement Anchormen, led by Robert Ofoedu scoring four touchdowns, shut out Trinity in a 45-0 rout on the campus of Tufts University in Medford. The Anchormen, led by Colin Walsh, end at 5-5. Trinity, led by Steve McGonigle, had a poor season, ending at 0-10.

Archbishop Williams (Braintree) vs. Cardinal Spellman (Brockton)

Playing at home, the Archbishop Williams Bishops defeated Spellman by a score of 14-10. In the first half, the Bishops led thanks to two touchdowns by Tom Fitzpatrick. Archbishop Williams, led by Bill Kinsherf, ends at 4-6. Spellman, led by Ron St. George, ends at 4-7.

Xaverian (Westwood) vs. St. John Prep (Danvers)

The Xaverian Hawks, led by Charlie Stevenson, flew over to Danvers and kept their spectacular undefeated season going with a 21-16 win over Prep and capturing the Catholic Central Conference Title. The regular season record of 11-0 is a first for the school. The Eagles, led by Jim O’Leary, end their season at 4-6. Xaverian made an appearance in a Division 1 semi-playoff game on Dec. 1 in Weymouth and defeated Brockton 21-14. The Hawks ended their season at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 5, defeating Everett 29-0 to win the Division 1 superbowl and end at a perfect 13-0.

Boston College High vs. Catholic Memorial (West Roxbury)

The BC High Eagles came over to Brother McKenna Stadium to take on the CM Knights and leave with a 28-17 win. Preston Cooper ran for 106 yards and scored two touchdowns. Led by Jon Bartlett, the Eagles end the season at 6-4. Led by Alex Campea, Catholic Memorial ends at a respectable 5-5.

Central Catholic (Lawrence) vs. Andover

Playing in Lawrence, Central Catholic defeated Andover 35-30. In the fourth quarter, two touchdown passes from Andrew Oullette to Jaycob Morales gave CC Raiders the lead for good. Led by Chuck Adamopoulos, Central Catholic ends at 8-3. Andover ends at 6-5.

Matignon (Cambridge) vs. Somerville

Playing at Dilboy Field, the Somerville Highlanders defeated the visiting Matignon Warriors 42-12. Led by Neil Valeriani, Matignon ends the season at 3-7. Somerville ends at 4-6.

Arlington Catholic vs. Arlington

The Arlington Catholic Cougars took on their neighbor, Arlington High and prevailed with a 22-13 win. One student who had a great day was Charlie Bates, running for 159 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He finishes the season with 1,500 yards and 24 touchdowns. Led by Serge Clivio, the Cougars end the season at an impressive 9-2. Arlington High ends at 2-8.

Austin Prep (Reading) vs. Bishop Fenwick (Peabody)

The Austin Prep cougars came over to Donaldston Stadium in Peabody to take on the Fenwick Crusaders and prevailed with a 24-0 shutout and captured the Catholic Central Large title. Fenwick, coached by Dave Woods, ends the season at 4-7.

Austin Prep made an appearance in a Division 3A semi-playoff game on Dec. 1 and defeated Lynnfield at Reading High by a score of 26-20 in overtime. The game was their first post season appearance in ten years. Prep ended the season on Dec. 5 at Gillette Stadium with a Division 3A superbowl win over Holliston by a score of 38-15. Prep coach Bill Maradei ends his 31st year with a 10-3 record and his second superbowl win.
