BRAINTREE -- The Archdiocese of Boston announced Oct. 28 that Father Thomas H. Maguire has taken a voluntary administrative leave of absence as a result of a reported allegation of inappropriate behavior in the presence of minors. Father Maguire is the Pastor at St. Helen Mother of the Emperor Constantine in Norwell. The inappropriate conduct is alleged to have occurred recently. The Archdiocese immediately notified law enforcement of the allegation and has initiated a preliminary investigation into the matter. Father Maguire will remain on administrative leave without any public ministry pending the outcome of the preliminary investigation. "The decision regarding administrative leave represents the archdiocese's commitment to the welfare of all parties and does not represent a determination of Father Maguire's guilt or innocence as it pertains to this allegation. The Archdiocese will work to resolve this case as expeditiously as possible and in a manner that is fair to all parties," the archdiocese said in a statement.
