Priest accepts voluntary leave of absence after allegation
After receiving an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor, Father Charles J. Murphy has accepted a voluntary administrative leave, according to the Archdiocese of Boston. In an announcement released Aug. 21 the archdiocese said there is a pending investigation into an incident, alleged to have occurred 25 years ago.
Father Murphy is currently assigned as a part-time chaplain to the Deaf Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Boston and part-time Catholic Chaplain at the state prison at Norfolk. He has also been in residence and served part-time at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Weymouth.
