Archbishop Seán P. O’Malley has accepted the requests of two pastors to retire and granted both senior priest/retirement status. Father Dennis Burns of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Marblehead will become a senior priest when his successor is named at the North Shore parish; while Father Lawrence Drennan of St. Thomas Aquinas in Bridgewater will retire on June 13.
