  • Atheist Health Policy Expert Speaks at the Vatican | Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel | Ep. 1

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel — one of the principal architects of modern American healthcare policy — was recently invited to the Vatican to address the Pontifical Academy for Life. In this conversation, recorded at Catholic News Service in Rome, he reflects on his childhood in Chicago, his role advising U.S. presidents, his views on euthanasia and end-of-life care, and why his central message — especially fitting for Lent — is disarmingly simple: remember that you are going to die. His invitation to the Vatican underscores a larger dynamic — how the Church navigates its engagement with secular expertise, and how encounters between belief and unbelief can deepen moral discernment in a fragmented age. Guest bio: Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is a physician, oncologist, and bioethicist widely regarded as one of the principal architects of modern American healthcare policy. A longtime professor at the University of Pennsylvania, he has shaped national debates on medical ethics, end-of-life care, and health system reform for more than three decades. • DAILY CATHOLIC MASS 3/6/26 | Beloved Son and Stone Rejected: Jealousy, Redemption, and the Vineyard

Welcome! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Friday of the Second Week of Lent. In today’s reverent Homily, Father Richard Clancy reflects on the "sacred practice of penance" and the journey toward the holy things to come. Drawing from the story of Joseph and the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, Father Clancy explores the destructive power of jealousy and the wondrous way God brings redemption out of rejection. We are encouraged to set our course toward the "pledge of eternal salvation," trusting that the stone rejected by the builders has become the cornerstone of our faith. This Mass is a powerful call to sincerity of heart as we prepare for the mystery of Christ's Passion and Resurrection. The Scriptures highlight the pattern of betrayal and the triumph of God’s plan: -The First Reading (Genesis 37:3-28): Israel loves Joseph best of all his sons, giving him a long tunic, which stirs the hatred and jealousy of his brothers. When they see him from a distance, they plot to kill the "master dreamer," but at Judah's suggestion, they instead sell him into slavery to Ishmaelite traders for twenty pieces of silver. -The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 105): A reminder of God's providence: "Remember the marvels the Lord has done". -The Holy Gospel (Matthew 21:33-46): Jesus tells the parable of a landowner who plants a vineyard and leases it to tenants. When he sends his son to collect the produce, the tenants kill him, thinking they will acquire his inheritance. Jesus asks the Pharisees what the owner will do to those tenants and then quotes the Scripture: "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes". May the redemption promised grant us health of mind and body, and may we merit the defense of God's protection through our constancy in good deeds. • DAILY CATHOLIC MASS 3/5/26 | The Choice of Life: Following Christ and the Way of the Cross

Welcome! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Thursday of the Second Week of Lent. In today’s reverent Homily, Father Bobby LeBlanc invites us to look deeply into the "fire of the Spirit" to find steadfastness in our faith. Drawing from the solemn exhortation of Moses and the radical call of Jesus, Father LeBlanc explores the fundamental choice set before every believer: the choice between life and death, blessing and curse. We are encouraged to "deny ourselves" and take up our cross daily, trusting that God’s grace is the essential support for our human weakness. This Mass serves as a powerful reminder that our path to holiness is found in "holding fast" to the Lord and seeking the eternal gifts that the Spirit alone can bestow. May this Sacrifice remain active in its effects, working ever more strongly within us to make us effective in works of charity. Mass Chapters for Navigation -Introductory Rites / Penitential Act: 0:58 -Collect (Opening Prayer): 1:50 -First Reading: 2:20 -Responsorial Psalm: 3:35 -Gospel: 5:48 -Homily: 7:47 -Prayers Of The Faithful: 14:07 -Liturgy of the Eucharist Begins: 15:24 -Eucharistic Prayer / Consecration: 17:13 -The Lord's Prayer: 22:25 -Communion: 24:34 -Concluding Rites / Final Blessing: 27:00 Theological & Liturgical Context -Season: Thursday of the Second Week of Lent. -Gospel Focus: The Theology of the Cross; Jesus teaches that authentic life is not found in the accumulation of worldly profit, but in the sacrificial surrender of one's own will to the mission of the Father. -Homily Key Message: We are called to be "steadfast in faith," recognizing that our Lenten journey is a time to purify our desires and direct our hearts toward the way everlasting.
